HYRUM, Cache County — A Hyrum man was killed in a head-on collision Wednesday morning.

Duane Labrum, 72, was driving south on 1200 West, a two-lane road between Hyrum and Nibley, when an oncoming car collided with him about 7 a.m., Cache County Sheriff's Lt. Mike Peterson said.

Labrum was killed in the collision.

The Cache County Attorney's Office is screening possible charges against the driver who hit Labrum, Peterson said. The driver was travelling north and attempted to pass a vehicle near 3600 South, clipping it, and then hitting Labrum's vehicle head-on.

Two occupants of the two northbound vehicles were transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing. A representative from the state medical examiner's office is consulting on the case.
