OGDEN — A woman is dead and a man was injured after a car accident near the Ogden-Hinckley Airport Friday night.
The wreckage of a black Mazda 3 was discovered by police at about 11:20 p.m. near the Ogden-Hinckley Airport.
The 24-year-old male driver was found conscious and breathing near the car, police said. He was taken to the hospital with a possible broken leg.
The 20-year-old female passenger was trapped inside the wreckage. Police said they extricated her from the car and attempted to resuscitate her, but she died from injuries sustained in the accident.
Police believe the vehicle left the road and struck a parked trailer after the driver lost control on a curve. Police believe that in addition to excessive speed, alcohol may have played a part in the crash.
Police did not release the identities of the accident victims Saturday morning.
