(KSL News) A lot of TRAX riders got home late this evening. Lines of people waited to catch a train.

One of the wires that feeds power to TRAX was severed under a bridge near the I-15 "Spaghetti Bowl," so northbound and southbound trains had to share a stretch of track. That meant long waits.

A rider from Sandy, Caryn Norton, said, "I had no idea that there was an issue. The fact that people have been here for about two hours now, and that's the first train to get here?"

Crews worked for about 12 hours to fix the problem, and everything was back on track by 7 p.m.

Paul Obrien, the general manager of the TRAX Rail Services, said, "Well, a big inconvenience, and we do apologize to everybody. We do assure people that tomorrow morning will be just fine."

About 40,000 people ride TRAX every day.
