Lance Bandley reporting Larry H. Miller opens up the biggest theater complex in Utah, in South Jordan today.
The Megaplex 20 has a different look than the Jordan Commons. Inside the doors is a large commons area with tables surrounded by a food court.
"We just live up the road, so it's going to be really nice to have something so big so close," says one local resident.
Ticket sales are down across the country and Megaplex General Manager Dick Cornell says they have to design new theaters this way to keep audiences interested in going to see movies.
"You have to stay in front of the eight ball; you have to give the guests what they want," says Megaplex General Manager Dick Cornell.
This complex also has two theaters with screens 70 feet wide and 40 feet tall that seat 600 people. And on the outside is the first drive through ticket kiosk in the country.
