SPANISH FORK — The high-risk high-reward of scheduling your rival on homecoming backfired for the Spanish Fork Dons as the Springville Red Devils got a big 34-21 road win.

Springville quarterback Dylan Slavens had a fantastic night, throwing for 324-yards and three touchdowns.

It was a back and forth battle in the first half with huge plays from both teams.

Slavens found wideout Jessi Noll for the longest play of the game, an 84-yard strike to give the Red Devils the early 14-7 lead.

Spanish Fork would answer with its own big play. Jason Money hit Joe Anderson for the 72-yard pass for the touchdown to tie the game at 14.

Late in the first half, Slavens would find Noll for another big-hitter — a 35-yard screen pass and Springville took a 26-14 lead into halftime.

Springville would tack on a touchdown and two-point conversion in the second half and Spanish Fork would get a short 3-yard touchdown run from Money to finalize the score, 34-21.

"In my three-years of high school, I've never beaten Spanish Fork, so it's just the greatest feeling," said Springville senior Rhett Clark, who scored touchdown.

"It's just nice to come in here and get a win," said Noll, "start region off good and we just got to get ready for Timpview. We're fired up right now."

"It means the world to us in Springville," said Clark. "We have a lot to prove. People don't think we're as good as we think we are. It's just good to come in 3-0 and get another win."
