It's time for yet another futuristic idea from Star Wars to meet reality! This time, it's Princess Leia's hologram. This concept comes Imagination Farm USA, and it's called the HOLHO. You place mirrors on a smartphone or tablet to get the illusion of a 3D image, floating in the air. Not sure when this is coming out, or how much it will cost, but you can pledge about $30 to get in on the KickStarter project.
When it comes to cars, is there such a thing as too much technology? The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S500 has so many apps, some analysts are saying it makes connection times too slow. Two big LCD-screens make up the dashboard and an innovative steering assistance feature with adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and auto-parking. Forget those little tree air fresheners, this Mercedes has a scent container in the glove compartment. Kind of an aromatherapy system for your car.
A new device makes baking a little more accurate. It's called the Smart Kitchen Thermometer. You plug the range into your iPhone, launch the app and you can measure your food's progress. It'll also show you the ideal temperature for whatever you're cooking. When your food hits that perfect temperature, the app will send an alert to the chef, and tell your family that dinner is ready! This is a successful KickStarter campaign, but you can still pledge $50 to get yours.
