SALT LAKE CITY — Maliheh Free Clinic is hosting a mammography clinic throughout Saturday, offering free mammograms to Utah women.
The clinic is the second in a series of six mobile mammography clinics at the Maliheh Free Clinic on 400 East and 3900 South. The goal of the project is to increase the screening rate in Utah.

The mammography screening rate in Utah is the second lowest in the nation, averaging roughly 68 percent. The rate may be as low as 48 percent among uninsured, low income and minority populations.
During the first mobile clinic last May, 19 uninsured, low income women were provided clinical breast exams, breast self-examination education and screening mammograms.
