SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A Layton father has entered a guilty plea to charges that he killed his infant son by shaking the infant last year.

Brad Richard Crook pleaded guilty to third-degree felony child abuse in 2nd District Court. The charge carries a penalty of up to five years in prison.

Kayden Crook was just 40 days old when shaken by his father on April 10, 2007. Three days later, the infant boy was taken off life support at Primary Children's Hospital.

Sentencing is set for March 25.
