Randall Jeppesen reportingA man is recovering in the hospital this morning after he says two men tired to slash his throat because he was preaching the gospel.
The victim arrived in Salt Lake City on a bus and started talking about Jesus to two men near by. He tells police the men got mad, hit him in the head, then they pulled out a knife.
Police Lieutenant Dave Craycroft "They tried to cut his throat but it wasn't very deep, his injury was not life threatening thank goodness."
Police Lieutenant Dave Craycroft says at first they couldn't find the victim until he was spotted lying in a Wendy's parking lot on 4th South. Police say it's possible the man has some mental problems but, his wounds show that he was attacked.
