(KSL NewsRadio) -- A man is ripped out of his car overnight, but is now lucky to have his car back.
The man says he parked on the side of the road, waiting for friends, when a group of people come up and opened the car door and pulled him out. They took off and police spotted the car driving around West Salt Lake four hours later.
"We did return the car to the owner and he wasn't injured and is happy to have his car back."
Salt Lake police lieutenant Rick Finley says the car apparently traded hands several times overnight because the person caught driving it was not one of the original car jackers.
The victim is now checking the car over to see if anything was taken. Police are searching for the two that pulled him from the car.
