Randall Jeppesen reporting The founders of the former movie-editing company Clean Flicks says their good name is ruined after the arrest of a man who ran a movie-editing store in Orem.
Clean Flicks closed its movie-editing business a year ago but recently came back as a family-friendly online rental company. However, when Daniel Thompson, who ran the edited-movie store Flix Club in Orem, was arrested for paying young girls for sex, everyone started pointing at Clean Flicks.
Clean Flicks owner Ray Lines says it's horrible because they are not connected. "Our name has been drug through the mud, and it's not right," he said.
Thompson did manage a Clean Flicks store for a short time, but for years has been completely unaffiliated and running his own editing business. However, he still had a Web site where he used the name Clean Flicks.
Lines says his company is now suing Thompson for damages to his company's name.
