SOUTH JORDAN — A fire in South Jordan burned one home and damaged an adjoining duplex.

The South Jordan Fire Chief Chris Evans said the fire started in the attic of a duplex at 4453 West and about 9600 South. Crews responded around 9:30 p.m. Sunday and extinguished it before midnight.

No one was in the home when the fire started, but the family in the attached duplex told firefighters they heard a boom, saw flames and smelled the smoke.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
