OGDEN — Fire fighters rescued several dogs and puppies after an Ogden residence caught fire Saturday morning.

Fire crews from the Ogden and Roy fire departments responded to a house fire at 280 31st Street at 9 a.m. The house was subdivided into three apartments, and a room of one of the apartments had caught fire. The residents were not home and fire fighters had to rescue two dogs and six puppies from the fire.

The fire was contained to one room, and the other two remaining apartments were not damaged. The damage of the one apartment is estimated at $10,000.

The residents of the apartment and the dogs were displaced by the fire and are being assisted by Ogden fire department personnel. There were no injuries associated with the fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation by the Ogden City fire marshal.
