SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — A body found in Southern California a decade ago has been identified as that of a Salt Lake City woman missing since 2001.
DNA testing found that remains discovered in Feb. 2003 in Needles, Calif., a town near the California-Arizona-Nevada border, are those of Salt Lake City woman Charlotte Mower.
Mower was 36 years old when she was last seen in 2001 in Salt Lake City, crossing a street at about 3500 South and 500 East. She was not reported missing until her sister filed a report in Oct. 2003.
Mower's case is listed as active with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office's cold case unit, but there have been no arrests in the case.
