SALT LAKE CITY — Former Utah Jazz star Karl Malone got a special visit from some missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this week.

Kay Malone, Karl's wife, tweeted a picture of her husband with four smiling missionaries. Karl Malone Jr. also tweeted out a picture of himself standing with the same four missionaries.

Dumped on the kiss cam

The kiss cam is one of the oldest ways to pass the time during a timeout. For some, it can be really awkward. However, some find a way to make it awkward for those watching the kiss cam. But for one couple, the kiss cam turned into a disaster.

Speaking on his cell phone, the guy brushes off what appears to be his girlfriend. Obviously bugged, she continues to try to get him to kiss her on camera, but to no avail. The camera comes back to them a second time, but with the same result. Finally, on the third attempt, the woman dumps her drink on the man, quickly ending the conversation and possibly their relationship.

I'm not convinced it's real — it's got to be staged — but even if it's not, it's still worth the watch.

Amazing face-saving catch

Being a pitcher in baseball is probably one of the most dangerous positions. The ball comes off the bat at tremendous speed, with little time to think. It really is just natural instincts that come into play when stopping a line-drive ball to the face.

This week, Syracuse High School pitcher Jordan Cobabe avoided a line-drive shot by getting his glove up in time. It's a good thing, because that ball could have done some serious damage. I've been hit in the shins before, and that doesn't feel good. If you look closely, you can still see the ball's seam imprinted on my leg.
