Randall Jeppesen reporting The smaller film festivals are also underway as Sundance brings in stars. In fact, the LDS Film Festival takes place this weekend in Orem.
The LDS Film Festival might not draw the crowds like Sundance, but the crowds at the Orem SCERA Theater keep getting bigger and bigger.
"We had almost 5,000 last year in attendance, and from all indications this year opening night was a sell-out," explained Reggie Walker, with the festival.
Walker says they mostly feature LDS filmmakers, but the range of films is pretty wide. This year there's everything from a documentary about a basketball player to a story about Elvis.
