Kerry Barrett Reporting All this month, Kerry Barrett is taking a close look at the Utah families experiencing "Life at War".

Tonight we'll hear from two families, from Iraq and here at home, talking about the things they miss the most.

Capt. Chris Vasquez/ pilot: "Four months of no wife and no Chloe and no Luke is definitely the toughest part."

"Obviously with my wife there's the friendship, but there's also the wife role, so many different roles that a woman plays in your life, that's not there right now. And that's tough, too."

Aubry Vasquez/ husband's deployed: "I'm doing everything without my best friend alongside of me, and that's hard."

"My best friend, I miss the most and I just... it's tough to try to go through every day without you."

"Know that I am completely in love with you and that I love you."

"Thank you for being my wife and thank you for putting up with a fighter pilot schedule."

Rebecca Gerling/ Father deployed: "Hi Dad! How are you? What have you been doing? I love you and miss you and Daniel is missing you. So is Mom and so am I."

Senior Master Sgt. Joseph Gerling: "What I really want to do is go home and play with my kids."

"She's dealing with the kids day in and day out. She works in the military full time job. So when she comes home there's not much time for herself."

"So basically separation makes the heart grow fonder. So we've been apart, our hearts shouldn't be able to get any fonder, but they keep doing it."

Coming up tomorrow on Eyewitness News Today, Kerry will continue her look at local airmen experiencing "Life at War".
