(KSL News) -- A six-year-old boy from Draper had his foot run over with a lawnmower -- he's recovering at Primary Children's.

The boy was riding with his older brother when he fell off the lawnmower.

Paramedics say the boy is lucky a medical helicopter happened to be down the road when the accident happened.

Earlier this week we told you about a warning from doctors at Primary Children's as new cases of lawnmower injuries are showing up.

Alan Stotts, M.D. Orthopedic Surgery, Primary Children's Medical Center: "The amount of kinetic energy that is rotating in that blade is higher than what we think of in a typical ballistic injury - getting shot with a 45 caliber handgun. It's higher than getting shot with a 223 hunting rifle."

Doctors say children should not operate a lawnmower unless they are over 15.

Do not have children ride with you and make sure they're not playing in the yard at all while cutting unless another adult is with them.
