Ashley Hayes ReportingThe suspects in a morning shooting in South Salt Lake City are at large. And while police try to track down the shooters, the victim is in critical condition at the hospital.
South Salt Lake Police say the shooting happened around 10:00 in a parking lot near 3300 S. 300 East. Police are still piecing together what happened. They know witnesses heard gun shots, and when they ran out to the parking lot, a man was on the ground bleeding.
The victim is a 36-year-old man, is in an area hospital now still in critical condition. Police are looking for the shooters. They believe two men driving a 1995 green Pontiac Bonneville with the Utah plate 054-NNW may be the shooters.
For the people who work nearby, the crime has left them unnerved.
John Vendermerwe: "I've never had a problem. No crime. No cars getting broken into. I know there's problems with gangs around here. Ya know I've never seen what happens because of it. I don't know if this is a drug deal gone bad or, I have no idea, it's just a bad thing."
We asked police if this shooting was gang related. They don't think so. Right now police say they just need some time to sort through what happened. They were still interviewing witnesses late this afternoon.
