(KSL News) If he runs for President, Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney says he'll explain his religion to the public.

Romney says just like JFK told Americans what it meant to be Catholic, Romney will explain The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The former head of Salt Lake's 2002 Winter Olympics says he would need the support of conservative Christians, like southern evangelicals, some of whom believe the LDS Church is not Christian.

Romney says his religious beliefs are integral to his life, but don't influence his political judgements.

He has not said whether he'll run for President, but he is not seeking re-election for Governor this fall.
