(KSL News) -- An overloaded tractor trailer knocked out power to thousands of residents in West Jordan.
Police say it was packed two feet above the height limit. The extra height caused the trailer to knock out a semaphore and the driver kept on going.
Capt. Gary Cox, West Jordan City Police Dept.: "That height created a problem on 7800 South when that height pulled down power poles on both sides of the street."
When the lines came down, the driver realized he had a problem.
A transformer blew when the poles toppled, knocking out power to thousands of residents. The mistake caused about 20-thousand dollars damage.
