Keith McCord ReportingIt's all business at the Salt Palace Convention Center for the next two days. The 20th annual Salt Lake Chamber's Business to Business Expo is underway. The event has been going on for 20-years now.
The Chamber holds meetings and gatherings throughout the year, but this one is the biggie. For business owners and employees, as well as the public, this is where you can mingle with others and swap ideas in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.
The Expo started at 10:00 this morning. There is food galore, live music, guest speakers, a variety of seminars. 250 exhibitors have booths set up. 15-thousand people are expected to visit. This is the largest Business Expo in the western U.S!
This is really a chance for any company--large or small-- to display their products and establish new contacts. Let's put it this way, a lot of business cards will be exchanged today and tomorrow.
Lane Beattie, Pres. & CEO, Salt Lake Chamber: "A lot of people just come to see what's new, what's going on in the business world. What are the trends? People looking at opportunities. People looking at marketing. Who do we need to talk to?"
Glenn McCrory, GM, Western Nut Co.: "We're taking some different directions with the company, trying to accomplish more corporate sales. Everyone is very familiar with Western Nut Company, they've given our gifts or received our gifts. What we're doing today is showing how you can personalize it with your company name and company logo."
There are all kinds of free stuff too; just about every exhibitor is giving away something or having a contest. For instance, there are 3,000 balloons and each one has a gift certificate inside
The Business Expo goes until 7:00 tonight and then from 10- 7 again tomorrow.
