Randall Jeppesen reportingSome Utah air quality experts say a new report makes Utah's air look a lot worse than it really is.
Some clouds, some sunshine -- not a lot of smog this morning. But the state of the air report from the American Lung Association says the corridor from Salt Lake to Ogden has the fifth most polluted air in the country.
Rick Sprott: "So we will need to take another round of steps to improve the air but we're not the fifth worst in the nation."
Utah Division of Air Quality Director Rick Sprott says all of Utah currently meets EPA standards and he knows of a hundred other areas outside this state that don't. The study is based on short term particle pollution. It has Logan ranked as the sixth worst air and Provo/Orem areas ranks number nine.
