No. 1 Lone Peak defeated West Jordan to advance to the 5A quarterfinals.

Ranked first in the nation by MaxPreps and third by ESPN, the Lone Peak Knights started off slowly leading just 14-11 midway through the first quarter. Then the Lone Peak offense started clicking, outscoring West Jordan 35-13 to take a 49-24 lead into the half.

T.J. Haws hit 5 of his 8 three-pointers to score 19 points. He also dished out a team-high 8 assists.

Nick Emery led all scorers with 22 points in 21 minutes and had 3 steals, but it was senior center Eric Mika that controlled the game. Mika was a near perfect 8 for 9 from the field, finishing with 19 points and 16 rebounds.

West Jordan was overwhelmed, but Parker Brown played well scoring 17 for the Jaguars.

No. 1 Lone Peak will play No. 5 Davis on Wednesday, Feb. 27th at 4:10 p.m.
