(KSL News) -- Police have arrested a man who led them on a high speed chase this afternoon.
Officers from the Taylorsville PD spotted Cody Ward in a car at a Dee's restaurant on Redwood Road, and took him into custody.
Narcotics officers had been looking for Ward, after they tried to pull him over earlier in the day in Midvale.
Officers said he took off, and several police agencies joined in the pursuit.
Sgt. Ken Jarvis, Midvale Police Dept. "Somewhere on Redwood, the suspect tried to run over an officer, so that changed it to an assault situation... And then a chase ensued, and they ended up on the freeway..."
The suspect finally fled on foot in the Draper area. Police brought in the K-9 unit and started searching neighborhoods.
Police say Ward was wanted on several warrants.
