(KSL News) The South Salt Lake Animal shelter hosted an open house today to try to find the animals a home for the holidays.
Roughly 18 dogs and 29 cats need loving families to take them in.
Officials say a lot of people are looking for dogs and cats to give as presents.
But rather than buying them, the shelter suggests adopting instead.
