SALT LAKE CITY — With all the recent snow that has fallen in the valley over the last couple days, some skiers don't bother going to the resorts to ski. They stopped at the foothills, strapped on their skis and enjoyed the powder.
"I drove from Little Cottonwood Canyon to downtown Salt Lake City to ski powder," Hargrave said. "It's so cool because you come over the ridge skiing 30 inches of powder, and then you see the city. It's like 'Wow! What city can you do that in?'"
The powder at the foothills provided some free, open fun for the skiers that didn't want to trek to the crowded ski resorts.
