PARIS, Tex. — Three men are dead after the plane they were taking to Austin crashed.
Saturday at about 8:55 a.m., Rob Thompson, 49, of Saratoga Springs, was flying a Piper Meridian plane owned by Celtic Bank to Austin with two other men.
Near Paris, police say, the southward-flying plane suddenly turned back toward the airport, then began descending rapidly and crashed. The weather condition at the time was foggy.
Passengers Michael Endo, 50, of Saratoga Springs and Michael Dale Bradley, 44, of Salt Lake City, were both killed in the crash.
All three men were pronounced dead at the scene by the Justice of the Peace.
The men's bodies have been taken to the Colin County Medical examiner in McKinney.
