Paul Nelson ReportingPro-Latino advocates will be using a new anthem to show their support for undocumented workers during monday's scheduled rallies. But some people are offended at the song they are choosing to re-record.
It's called "Nuestro Himno" or "Our Hymn." It's a Spanish song using the melody of the "Star-Spangled Banner." Some people say using it as an immigration rally song crosses the line.
Others say they're not offended by the choice of the song, but they don't want the national anthem used the wrong way.
Proyecto Latino de Utah Director Tony Yapias says the artists most likely did not mean to offend anyone. But, he says, they probably should have picked a different song.
