OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Officials at the Utah Department of Transportation say 2008 could be one of the busiest years for road construction in several northern Utah counties in state history.

About $1.2 billion worth of transportation growth projects in Davis, Weber, Morgan, Box Elder and Cache counties are expected to be finished by next fall.

At the top of the list is the $685 million Legacy Parkway -- the South Davis segment of the larger Legacy Highway project.

Construction on the 14-mile, four-lane Legacy Parkway began in March 2006, with full construction starting earlier this year. The project is expected to be complete next fall and take traffic off of Interstate 15.
