SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Higher market prices and stronger production for natural gas led Questar Corporation to a big first quarter profit.
The company earned more than 137(M) million dollars for the quarter -- up 44 percent.
Almost all of the earnings come from the company's oil and gas exploration and pipeline businesses.
Questar also operates a regulated gas utility in Utah, supplying gas at cost to customers.
About half of those supplies come from the company's own leased gas fields in Wyoming.
And Questar says it sells that gas is sold to Utah customers at about half the national average.
