Lance Bandley reportingCredit card and gas companies are getting ready to pound you with junk mail offering deals at the pump, but you may want to read the fine print.

If you think you already get a lot of junk mail, get ready for some more.

Mike Peterson, American Credit Foundation Spokesperson: "The amount of direct mail for gas card offers has doubled in the last year....and they project it may double again in 2006.

American Credit Foundation Spokesperson Mike Peterson says you need to read the fine print on gas card offers. Also he says you have to pay off the card each month. For example if you spend $200 on gas, use a credit card to get 10% back you save $20. But if you don't pay it off, the interest the next month it will cost you around $30. So you end up paying more.

Mike Peterso, American Credit Foundation Spokesperson: "Credit card companies and gas companies are trying to make money on the pricing increase."
