PROVO, Utah (AP) -- A Brigham Young University professor and student have been honored for their contributions to volunteer programs at BYU.
The Utah Campus Compact recently honored Biology professor Gary Booth and BYU student Kyra Tarbell.
Booth requires students in his Biology 100 classes to participate in projects that address issues of aging, persons with disabilities, conservation and education.
Meanwhile, Tarbell volunteers with programs, such as Adopt-A-Grandparent, ACCESS, Community Outreach Day, LDS Special Education Institute and BYU's Hunger Banquet.
