Lance Bandley ReportingHere at the GLBT center, employees are looking for quotes online from the LDS Church about marriage.

"Elder Russell M. Nelson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles has said that an ideal marriage is a true partnership between two imperfect people striving to compliment each other."

Utah GLBT Executive Director Valerie Larabee says she is not surprised by the latest action by several church leaders around the nation. She says this is an on-going issue but says a national amendment will have a far greater impact than just a state amendment on marriage.

"The difference it makes to me is that it tells me that my country does not support me and who I am in this world."

LDS Church officials say a constitutional amendment is the only way to adequately protect marriage.
