All it takes is a look at the gas station marquees. It almost feels like Memorial Day gas prices, but the holiday is still more than a month away.

- National Average (Today)--$2.90 a gallon

The average Salt Lake City driver is paying $2.60 a gallon, according to saltlakegasprices.com. A month ago we paid $2.21 a gallon. Across the state of Utah, the numbers are not much different.
It does beat the national average, where many are paying just under $3 a gallon.
More bad news from energy experts: Yesterday they upped their gas price predictions for the summer, forecasting 4 to 5 dollars per gallon by July.
So how will this impact your life in the coming months?
Daniel Johnson, Visits St. George: "I was going to go (to St. George) over the Easter weekend, but I decided to stay home. It's been ridiculous, going up 30 cents in the last month or so. I just can't believe it."
Jim Brown, Visiting from Arkansas: "I have decided to ride my bicycle every once in a while, three out of the five days."
Kim Mason, Staying home more this summer: "Northwest Arkansas is really pretty. We just might stay there, and invite people there."
A poll released before the most recent spike shows 54% of Americans are cutting back household spending because of gas prices.
A national story out of Boston quotes one man getting a new job because of gas prices. A public relations consultant who once commuted a hundred miles roundtrip to work decided he couldn't afford $400 a month in gas bills any longer.
