SPANISH FORK CANYON — One person was killed when a driver crossed over into oncoming traffic Sunday morning.

Around 8:30 a.m. Sunday about five miles from the Tie Fork rest area in Spanish Fork Canyon, the driver of an Oldsmobile heading eastbound crossed over the lane divider into westbound traffic.

The car drove head-on into a semitruck hauling ATVs. The driver was killed, but police reported that no other injuries occurred.

The highway was closed while the crash was investigated. No details about why the driver crossed into oncoming traffic were available Sunday.
