(KSL News) The Salt Lake County Democratic Party is holding elections next week to fill two vacant Legislative seats.

The first seat for House District 24 was left by Salt Lake City Mayor-elect Ralph Becker. The other seat for Senate District 5 is empty following the death of Senator Ed Mayne.

Five people are seeking the House seat. Mayne's wife, Karen, is the only candidate for the Senate seat.

Elections are Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Salt Lake County chambers.
