Zach Hinckley was only 8 years old when he started helping his dad mow lawns in the summertime. His father was a teacher and used lawn mowing to provide additional income for his family. Over time people would ask the Hinckleys to do other jobs around the yard. Although he wanted to do them, Zach's father didn't have the knowledge. He encouraged his son to get a degree in landscape and horticulture to put his experience to good use.
Well, that's exactly what Zach did. And his hard work is paying off since his landscaping company, Bluffdale-based Huskie'z (husk-ease) Landscaping, is celebrating their 10th anniversary this year.
Huskie'z Landscaping can do almost any landscaping task around your yard. They're most known for their custom-built water features, arbors and outdoor pergola (purr-go-lah). Pergolas are built to be open to air and sunlight to provide shade in your backyard. People also love their custom-built garden boxes for square-foot gardening. A trend today is that people don't want to manage a big plot of land for their garden. Their customers love how easy gardening is with these boxes.
Another area where the Huskie'z team excels is water wise landscapes. Zach says water wise does not mean a barren landscape. Instead, it may have larger shrub beds and less sod so you don't have to water as much. This is smart since Utah is the second driest state, and according to the Utah Division of Water Resources, around 65 percent of our water goes to the lawn. Huskie'z can create beautiful water wise designs for your yard.
One of the impressive aspects of this company is their education. Many staff members have degrees in landscaping, including Zach. For Huskie'z Landscaping, he has found it most effective to combine education and experience.
Zach's goal for Huskie'z Landscaping is to create a landscape so beautiful, you'll feel like you're taking a vacation in your backyard.
