MILLCREEK — Police are asking for volunteers to help search for an 80-year-old Millcreek man who has been missing since Wednesday.

The Unified Police Department issued a missing person advisory Friday for Fritz Helland. Family members told police Helland took his dog for a walk about 2:50 p.m. Wednesday and has not returned. The man has short-term memory problems, police said.

UPD is asking volunteers willing to help search for Helland to meet at the LDS Church at 3370 S. 3100 East at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Helland is 5 feet 11 inches tall, with white hair and blue eyes. He is possibly wearing a brown or tan jacket.

Police ask anyone with information about Helland's whereabouts to call 801-743-7000.
