SALT LAKE CITY — This week's Wednesday's Child is a two-for-one: two brothers in one story, with a very special bond and a lot of love to give.
The role of big brother is one 11-year-old Orion takes seriously. He carefully watches over his 8-year-old Levi, who is severely autistic.
It's a lot of responsibility for a child, but Orion is not your typical child.
"I have a whole life ahead of me, and there's going to be different opportunities, and I'm going to learn to do more things," he said.
That's how Orion responded when I asked him about foster care. He and Levi have been in the system for nine months, and they hope to be adopted together.
Levi is sweet, and fast. Orion is patient and has a kind heart. The two say they are ready for a permanent family.
