KELTON, Box Elder County &3#8212; A man whose gun discharged, shooting him in the chest, was in critical condition Sunday.

Saturday morning, around 10 a.m., a 53-year-old man from Roy was hunting in the Kelton area. While trying to retrieve his black powder rifle from the back seat of his pickup truck, the weapon discharged and shot him in the upper right chest.

The man then drove himself abut 12 miles, from Kelton to north of Locomotive Springs, where he called police. Emergency response arrived shortly after, and transported the man by Air Med to an Ogden hospital.

He remains in stable, but critical condition.
