(KSL News) Residents of Ogden could soon be paying quite a bit more for water.
Last night, the Ogden City Council unveiled plans to raise water rates by 35 percent in the winter and 47 percent in the summer in order to pay for repairs to tanks and pipes that are antiquated.
The cost of sewer service also would go up 13 percent.
Ogden residents will be able to weigh in on the proposal at a public hearing next month. Then the new rates will take effect on Jan. 1 if given final approval.
