SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Mine boss Bob Murray will testify before a congressional committee investigating the Crandall Canyon mine in central Utah. But Murray won't appear as planned next week.
The Senate Appropriations Labor Subcommittee subpoenaed Murray to appear on Tuesday, but the panel now says it can't meet on Tuesday.
It will reschedule the hearing. A firm date has not been set.
Murray became the public face of the rescue effort at Crandall Canyon after six miners were trapped inside the mine by a collapse on August 6.
Three men were killed and six others injured 10 days later while tunneling in a bid to reach the entombed miners.
A company spokesman says Murray is prepared to cooperate and appear before the committee whenever he's called.
Pennsylvania Republican Sen. Arlene Specter says he wants to question Murray about the disaster.
Senators want to know why the company kept mining inside Crandall Canyon after a March bounce blew apart roof supports.
