Randall Jeppesen reportingSmoking in a car with young children is now illegal in one state. Some Utah legislators says Utah should have a similar ban.
The Arkansas ban says if there's a child under sixty pounds or six years old and under in your ca, you cannot smoke. Some Utah lawmakers, including Senator Scott Mccoy, say the ban makes a lot of sense.
Senator Scott Mccoy : "In a real captive audience, in a car sometimes, in a confined space you know is our kids. I thought it was interesting and thought it was something worth looking at."
Mccoy says it was talked about briefly this past legislative session as they passed the smoking ban at private clubs and bars. Now Mccoy says he'll take a good look at the issue during the interim and see if he could get enough support to push the legislation here.
