(KSL News) A man accused in a brutal, fatal beating is expected in court today.

Christopher Hewitt is scheduled for a preliminary hearing.

Prosecutors say the 18-year-old hit Ben Perkins-Link and Seth Coleman repeatedly with a metal pole when the three were in Neff's Canyon in August.

Coleman survived. Perkins-Link was dead by the time police arrived.
