Lance Bandley Reporting Salt Lake police are looking for a group of people who they say attacked a teenager at Jordan Park.
Officers say the 16-year old was at the park with a friend last night when a Toyota Camry pulled up with four women inside.
The women, all in their 20s, dragged the teen into their car. They beat her while driving around the Glendale area.
Sgt. Dave Hoffman, Salt Lake Police Dept.: "They stopped at another residence in the Glendale. Two male members jumped into the car with the victim, and then they also proceded to beat her."
Sgt. Dave Hoffman says the female suspects drove the victim around and were joined by several male suspects who beat the victim up again and then dumped her into the freezing water of the Jordan River. She pulled herself from the water and ran to a nearby home for help.
Sgt. Hoffman: "The victim was terrified, didn't want to call us. She was threatened not to call police. So she didn't call us at the time and the hospital called us. I'm glad they did. We want to catch up with these folks."
The teen has several head an face injuries. Police believe the incident is gang related.
