Mary Richards reportingThe mother of Lori Hacking will speak at a crime victims conference today. Advocates hope her story will help them help other victims.
When Utah first heard of Lori Hacking, it was the story of a missing jogger. It turned out she was murdered by her husband. Lori's mother Thelma Soares will speak about the terrible ordeal at the annual Crime Victims Conference. Organizer Ned Searle says her words will help advocates understand what a victim is going through.
Ned Searle: " She does have some things to say and when she does it's usually presented in a very unique way, in a way that's powerful."
Searle says victim advocates will also hear from Reed Richards, who is a victim of international crime. His brother was shot and killed while on a Book of Mormon tour in Guatemala.
