Weber State had a difficult start to the season last week when it faced Fresno State on the road — and returned home after suffering a lopsided loss. Things definitely won't get any easier as the Wildcats now move on to face in-state rival BYU in Provo this Saturday.
Wildcats head coach Jody Sears, in his first year at the helm, has confidence in his team to go and play good football, even if the only result it gets is learning more about itself.

Here's what coach Sears had to say about the Cougars:
On preparing for BYU quarterback Riley Nelson:
"You've got to be very selective with the pressures and you've got to be selective with the coverages and you've got to a do a very good job with those guys up front in terms of keeping that quarterback contained to a certain degree. He's an extremely excellent athlete and an awesome competitor.
"We've got to try to choreograph some things so we can keep that quarterback leveraged and do a good job of maybe playing a little more zone than man or what have you. We've got to be very detailed and diligent in terms of the things that we can do against a guy like that because, you know just as well as I do, those guys with the ball in their hands can make plays with their feet. They can get you."
On BYU's overall talent:
"I think they're really good. I think they're extremely well-coached like always. I think they are very disciplined. They're extremely sound offensively and defensively and special teams. They play extremely hard. When I look at them, I see a physical, tough, very well-coached football team. The talent speaks for itself.
"They've got plenty of talent to play with anybody in the country. I think it's awesome for us to go and find out where we are. They're a really good football team. They've got some tremendous athletes."
