Jon Dunn ReportingOn May 1st, Utah's Latino students say they will walk out of classes, a protest hoping to urge for immigration reform. But now leaders, within the Latino community are urging otherwise.

Latino community leaders say they've already proven they can pull together. The proof? The rally on the 9th. So kids walking out of school and missing statewide tests will prove nothing.

"I think there's a lot more proactive means to go about than to just say we want to walk out of school."

Tony Yapias says they do, however, need to offer the teens other ways to get involved and show their support. It's something they hope to organize within the next couple of days.

"You know, have the kids wear a white shirt, perhaps in support of or protest of."

The Salt Lake City School District has talked about moving the tests, just in case.
