(KSL News) -- A national organization says you are pretty safe crossing the street in Salt Lake City.

America Walks honored Salt Lake City with the 2006 "City at Your Feet Award." The organization says Salt Lake has provided street precautions to reduce auto pedestrian accidents--precautions such as overhead warning lights.

America Walks says the extra work has reduced auto -pedestrian crashes by 31 percent in Salt Lake.
